Waxing FAQs
- How long does waxing last? Usually a waxing service will last between 3–4 weeks but everyone’s rate of hair growth is different so results will vary.
- Does waxing hurt? It depends on your tolerance for discomfort. Keep in mind that you are removing the hair from the root, but I will make sure that you are as comfortable as possible.
- What does a waxing service consist of? I use a hard (stripless) wax by Starpil Wax. Your treatment includes 4 steps. First, I cleanse the area to remove any makeup, oils or lotions that may keep the wax from adhering. Second, I make sure that the area is dry and then l apply the wax. Then, I use a oil to make sure that there is no left over wax residue. Finally, I calm the treated are with an Aloe Vera gel.
- Can I get waxed if I am pregnant? Yes, you can still wax. However, you may experience more skin sensitivity due to the hormonal changes your body is going through. I recommend checking with your doctor during the last two months of pregnancy.
- Can I get waxed after a facial? You can still wax if you received a basic facial that includes a cleanse, steam, exfoliation and mask. If you received a specialty facial that includes, but is not limited to, an alpha (AHA) or beta (BHA) hydroxy peel, microdermabrasion or any other deep exfoliation treatment, then you need to wait at least 7 days to receive a wax service.
- Can I get waxed if I am taking Retin-A, Differin or Accutane? If you are taking any of these medications, please as your doctor before getting waxed. For prescribed creams such as Retin-A or Differin, I require that you stop using for 7 days PRIOR to your wax reservation and DO NOT resume use until 7 days after your wax service. I am sorry, but I will not wax you if you are on Accutane. It's very dangerous to wax while on Accutane and a doctor's note will be needed to receive services.
